Another great day with family...

Saturday afternoon we went to this sweet baptism.
I had Tom and Melissa's family sing the special number.
They did a great job.
Everyone loves to hear English here.
This baptism was in my ward just around the corner.

This is our Young Women's President.
She couldn't keep her hands off of Isaac's blond hair.
Neither could any other Peruvian lady.
They all loved to touch Isaac's head.
He was nice about it.

She and Melissa shared a few notes about Young Women.
Melissa is the YW President in her ward too.
They are joined by the counselor in the YW in my ward.

Saturday night we had championship dancers at the Mission Home
for a little education on the country's dances
and for some fantastic entertainment.

They have all won National titles.

The Marinera in Beautiful.

The children were fabulous.
Their facial expressions are so fun to watch.

Of course you have to pose with them after the dances.

We had the Giraldez family and my dear friend Mabell and the office Elders for dinner.

Summer, Meg, Janet, Melissa, Martha and Mabell

The Huacas... Sol and Luna

When you come to Trujillo, you have to visit some ruins.

We took the Farnsworths to the Huaca del Sol and the Huaca de la Luna
from the Moche civilization.  It is dated about 1500 years ago.

They have estimated that 130 million adobe bricks were used to build these Temples.

The large mound of dirt behind them is the Temple of the Sun
which they are just now starting to excavate.

The kids always love the bird whistles that are sold here at the ruins.
Isaac sounds just like a bird when he blows it.

Again another great morning with our visitors!

Human Foosball with Porvenir Zone

Primavera Zone and Porvenir Zone met us at McDonalds for lunch and then we
were off with Porvenir to play human foosball.

But of course there were a few extra hamburgers that they had to play
"paper rock scissor" for.

Human foosball is the great equalizer.
Everyone can play no matter what your skills because
you have to work as a team.

It doesn't matter if your a girl, a child, or a soccer star
you can have a great time all together playing this game.

After foosball with porvenir we also played some soccer on the big field.
It is such a great release for missionaries to run, kick, and enjoy
this beautiful weather.

They all made my family feel so welcome and loved.
Thank you Porvenir!

At the Playa ... Volleyball with Primavera!

The second day with the Farnsworth's we took the Primavera Zone
and played beach volleyball and flew kites.
The weather was perfect... a little overcast and about 70 degrees.

We all had a great time and then headed to McDonalds to meet the next Zone for
the afternoon activities.  Primavera Zone ate with us and then
went to finish their chores on Prep Day.

Farnsworth Family Festivities!

Tom, Melissa, Cole, Summer, Meg and Isaac
just got on the plane to go back to Arizona.

Every time I say goodbye to family
...it hurts...
but we had way too much fun together to be sad.

I am going to give you just a little taste of the things
we did these past five days.

I had the office Elders change all of the Preparation days
of the Missionaries here in the Trujillo Zones.

Then I planned our activities for the week with my family and
each one of the closest Zones.

The first day we had an Amazing Race
There was an adult, a child and two Elders on each team.

It was a quick way to get a feel for Trujillo
in a fun, authentic way.
We had to take taxis, buses and other transportation
to visit the places around town and take photos.

 Plaza de Armas

 Ovalo Papal

The Giant Huaco

The Mosaic Wall

The Mission Office

Mall Aventura

The Hermalinda

The Mayorista Meat Market

We had to place tiles on the Mosaic Wall

It was so much fun.
We went to a lot more places too...
Like Parque Eterna, Chan Chan, McDonalds etc...

So much to see, So much to do
So little time...

But a great start!
