A very important day to the Turks for two reasons....
First: It is National Root Beer Float Day.. YUM!
Second: It is Dean Turk's Birthday - President Turk's Father

We really didn't know it was Root Beer float day until
I was talking to Molly...
and Molly was texting back and forth to Kat...
and Kat was the one that knew of this important day
and Molly told me.

Before we even knew that it was root beer day...
President Turk made some RB floats for
Elder Richards and Elder Castillo
who were over at the mission home working on the big board.
It is hard to find root beer here in Peru
So when we see it, we buy it all up.
We have a great stash now.
I wish I was home to make this root beer float birthday cake for you Dean.
I think it looks perfectly delicious.
Somebody should certainly make this and tell me about it.

Ingredients
Cake:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 1/2 teaspoons water
- 4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon root beer extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
Vanilla Frosting:
- 7 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 1/2 cups butter
- 3 to 5 tablespoons heavy cream
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
