I Spy With My Little Eye.... the Trujillo Temple!

Another drive by shooting with the camera
of the Trujillo Temple
finally coming up over the barricades.

the two cranes are still moving like crazy...

This is the view from the cemetery.
EXCITING!
I needed to get up on something
but I can't climb on the statues.

We were with the Central Zone today.
So much fun...

I am not sure what the training was with the Zone Leaders ...
I only saw these photos that
Elder Castillo took.
It looked pretty interesting...
Zone Leaders:  Elder Levos and Elder Richards
 Hermanas Coronel and Semorile
 Elders Mano and Jimenez
 Elders Randall and Minaya
 Elder Pugmire
 Elder Calderon
 Zone Leaders again.
 Elder Zapana and Elder Cruz
Elder Mano again and Elder Cruz in the background again...

Elder King and Elder Nye were in today too.

Every one of these missionaries were interviewed by
President Turk today.
They are all discussing their personal prayers
and what it means to "Pray Always"
this round of interviews.

There are always some Great Insights
Sweet stories
Thought Provoking Questions
and Great Growth.

Meaningful prayers every single day
are essential for our spiritual growth.

It is so sweet to hear our missionaries say that they
have stopped praying for their own needs
and are now asking our Heavenly Father what they need
to pray for  and who they need to pray for...

If we follow the example of Enos and we pray and
work for the salvation of others...
our Faith can become unshakable!

Casa Grande ... Big House Interviews

Very strange day....  It has been raining all day
This does not happen in Trujillo.
I start to feel very anxious for those that
don't have adequate roofs here.
The electricity keeps popping in and out.
A few more giant cockroaches have entered my room
But good news, President Turk was home
and took care of them...
Maybe it's the rain.

We were with the Casa Grande Elders today for interviews.

 They are all fantastic...
Sad story happened with Elder Ramos and his companion Elder Paredes.
Elder Paredes is a mini missionary.
They baptized a woman on Saturday.
She was on a bus later that day that rolled.
A few were killed on the bus.
She is in critical condition.
Her new ward has been rallying around her
and will help in any way that they can.
We are praying for a complete recovery.
The Zone Leaders were really creative today.
Looks like hopscotch....
Zone Leaders are Elder Massey and Elder Davila.
Casa Grande Zone Includes:
Elder Dennis, Elder Aquino, Elder Ramos, Elder Huaman, Elder Astill,
Elder Contreras, Elder Hansen, Elder Perez,
Elder Casanova, Elder Paredes, Elder Bulmini, Elder Montesino
Zone Leaders: Elder Davila and Elder Massey

The Lord heareth the prayers of the righteous....
Keep praying Casa Grande... We love you all!

Dreams...

This last week President Turk received a phone call
from Elder Colonio's Aunt telling us
that Elder Colonio's Uncle had passed away.

She wanted us to please tell
him because this sweet Uncle had been
a Father figure to him.

So of course President Turk met with him
and told him about his Uncle.

Elder Colonio told the President that he had
just had a dream two days ago.
His Uncle came to him all dressed in white
and asked him to please look after his Aunt and to
not give up on her with the Gospel.
She has not been baptized.

Elder Colonio received this dream right after his Uncle
had passed away.  It was so vivid and real to him
that he had called and told his Zone Leaders all about it.
This was all right before President Turk told him of his Uncle's passing.

President Turk asked Elder Colonio to call his aunt and tell her
all about this .... She loved hearing this story.
She is now moving to Lima and when she is settled
she wants the missionaries to come to her home
and teach her the gospel.

Heaven and Earth..  So Close!
We feel and hear from Heaven every day.

Sweet Pumpkin Pie....

Elder May and Hermana Petherbridge both
had received pumpkin pie filling in their Christmas packages.
They are in the same Zone...
So they planned a district activity
in the mission home today for their Preparation day
with me and with Lucy
So that they could make pumpkin pies.
Better late than never.

They all thought it was worth the wait.
Even the Latins that had never tasted it before thought it was good.
It made all the gringos think of Thanksgiving of course...
Thanksgiving in February...  Fun!
They had to be patient ...  they had a few planned activities...
and then it was time....
They all enjoyed it very much.
Thanks to the Zone Leaders Elder May and Elder Vera
and the Hermanas for planning.
We are all Making Memories in the Mission Home.
What a great day!
