President Turk x's Four

We took the family into the office to bare testimonies
to the new Elders and their Trainers.
They were in for their one month check up already.

Tillman wants to be right next to his Papa T
at all times.

Tillman will definitely be a President of something someday.

Parker is the third President Turk

Kat and Myles were checking out the missionary board.
It is an amazing feat to move all these missionaries
and get them in the right place at the right time.

Here is another President Turk

The babies are always surrounded by the missionaries
Each of the family bore a sweet testimony to our missionaries
Kat talked about by small and simple things
 great things come to pass.

Myles spoke about practices on his mission
that helped him to be successful...
the power of planning and having back up plans...
working with the members...
and being obedient to even the small things

Hali was grateful for the opportunity to come and bring
her children to be around the missionary spirit.
There is definitely something very tangible when you are with them

Parker spoke on Charity...
He had them read Moroni 7:48 with him.
To be more like Christ, we have to develop charity... Christ like Love
and there is no better place to begin to learn this
than on the mission.

T-man found Mama T's huacos.  Tillman is going to make one
of his own tomorrow.

Oh Happy Day....

Our daughter-in-law, Hali is a soccer player.
She loves it and she is really good.

When she was here a year and a half ago
she couldn't play soccer with the missionaries
because she was expecting Penny.

So this visit she was very excited to be able to play.
And...
She was awesome.

I think she shocked a few of the
soccer playing latinos.

They were not expecting this fireball.
Parker was on Hali's team and had to try
to keep up with her.

Kat, my niece also kept up with the boys.
even though her jersey fit more like a dress.

Myles is competitive at everything he does.
He was on the winning team.

Myles would play soccer every day... all day if he could.
We also played some frisbee dodgeball.
Thanks to the East Zone for the games.
The sad part is that I didn't get pictures of the four teams
that were playing.

I had the grandchildren and we were at the playground.
President Turk was our photographer
and he forgot to take pictures of the Zone.

We went to the botanical gardens with the children
to feed the peacocks and turtles and exotic birds.
The children have been so amazing.
They have such easy dispositions.
I think that I will just keep them here with me.

Kat and Myles have good dispositions too.

Kat and Myles and Parker and Hali
are going to be doing
some guest blogging.
I hope there is time... Kat and Myles
leave tonight for Machu Picchu.

Beach Volley and Huaca del Sol y la Luna

We started a fun preparation day with the family and two zones
of missionaries at the Beach for some volleyball.

If you hold a cute baby the Hermanas will come running.

And President loves to hold his Penny Girl.

And kiss her til she cries.
We have to get a lot of kisses in this week
to last us another year.

Parker and Hali were the coaches to the Laureles team.

Laureles Zone came to play.

Kat and Myles were coaching the Palermo Zone...
The games were close and went back and forth.
It was a big deal because there were shirts involved.

But in the end...
Palermo Zone won the prize.
Kat and Myles pulled out the victory.

And it was sweet to see the Zone Leaders so gracious about the win.

They all  look good in white... no?
Congrats Palermo!

Tillman was still wearing his missionary tag
and hanging out with Papa T.

Tillman really feels like one of the big missionaries.
He wouldn't leave their sides.
He was a part of every huddle and every game.

Papa brought him a crab.
He Didn't really like that too much.

Second half of the day was at the Huaca ruins with the
Central Zone.

Myles, Kat, Parker, Hali, Tillman and the President
had a great time with Central Zone.
It is always an interesting tour at the Huacas.
I was able to stay home and play with my sweet grand daughter Penny.
It really was one of the best afternoons ever!

Trujillo... with Family

Kat and Myles are already hard core Peruvian.
They look great in their chuyos.

After our church meetings today...
We went home, ate a great lunch made by President Turk
and then the babies and some of the bigger babies
took a little nap.
When they all woke up we went to walk around the
Plaza de Armas and Avenida Pizarro.

No matter where we go,
Tillman has to wear his missionary name tag
like his Mama T and Papa T.
It says President Turk on his tag
so we call him the President of the Nursery.

I could take photos all day long of this...
people touching the baby.
You can see that Tillman does not like this.
That is why he stays up on top of his dad's shoulders.

This beautiful baby is not only pretty,
she has the sweetest disposition ever.
Oh, I am so thankful that I could be with her for this
short time at this fun stage in her life.
It's my favorite.

Whoa... Like father, like son.

This photo is taken in the Plaza de Armas where
we have our Christmas Program.
If you look carefully at the tall statue, you will see that
after they designed it, it was taller than the
Christ statue on the Catholic Church
so they made the sculptor shorten it by making the legs smaller.
The statue has a big torso... with tiny legs.

The Christ statue is on the yellow church
in between the clock tower and the bell tower.

We went by the Temple grounds which is still a big dirt field.
Nothing has started yet.
We love to go next door and walk around
on the beautiful cemetery grounds.

They really keep it up nice.
When I need a little Sacred Grove
I come here.

We have had a glorious day...
Tomorrow we are with some of our missionaries.

Kat and Myles Turk

Saturday morning we went to the beach with Parker and Hali and the Turkitos.
We were waiting for Papa T who was in Chimbote
with 140 young men and woman
in a mission prep seminar.

We built some sandcastles, walked out on the pier... and absolutely loved the
perfect weather.... 75 with a nice breeze... ALWAYS.
It makes me and my Arizona children happy.

Then in the afternoon something big was happening at the airport.
Kat and Myles, mis sobrinos, were arriving.

And the cameras and newscasters were there to document it.
The excitement was building...
And we were all waiting patiently
even Tillman.
And then the last two people off the plane...
YES it was our Kat and Myles
We all squealed!
But the cameras were gone... They were actually there following
"Vilma Palma and the Vampires"
A musical group from Argentina
that were on the same flight with Kat and Myles.
We decided to take our company right into the heart of the city
when they arrived.  It's not really the heart it is the bowels...
We all went to visit the Mayorista.
It is a maze of small stores all connected under the same roof.
You can buy anything in this place.
It is definetly where the locals go.
And Kat was extremely excited to find the ginormous pigs feet
that she was looking for.
And we found Myles, the Carnivore down in the meat market.
When we take our blonde grand babies into the mayorista
everyone loves to touch their hair or their hands.
Parker turns into a Papa Bear...
protecting his young from the curious onlookers.
It's a crack up.

And Papa T and Mama T... are happier than pigs in mud!
