I took the family to make Huacos.
It is such a great Peruvian experience.
The place that we go to make these pottery pieces is
right at the base of the
ruins of the
Huaca del Sol and the Huaca de la Luna.
Everything is pretty authentic and pretty much
done the way of their fathers.
The man that helps us is a sculptor.
This is the piece he is working on right now.
He is in the middle of finishing a bust of Christ.
Tillman loved the experience
and his cute huaco turned out perfect.
Penny was just happy to be included.
The Elders made some new pieces to add to the collection
behind my desk.
This is Elder Cook's piece before the cleaning up, glaze and firing.
Hali finished her Huaco and Penny's fast hands tipped it over.
It is not perfectly round any more
and that is what we like the most about it.
It will always have the Penny touch.
Could you ever be upset with this beautiful little face?
